This
business started as an outgrowth of a lifetime of working at being the best
pocket billiards player that I could be. After I started playing in
1965, I learned about maintenance of my own equipment (cleaning shafts,
shaft dent removal, tip replacement, ferrule maintenance & replacement etc).
Over the years, I measured and took apart various production and custom cues
to learn how, and why, they played good, bad or ugly. As I improved as a
player, friends asked me to fix their cues. I replaced tips first, then
ferrules, then dent removal and more complex repairs. As these repairs took
more of my time and money (I was doing them for free to start.), I decided
to make a few bucks and start a legal cue repair business in 1985. TRIPLE
CROSS CUES has grown between 20-35% each year. One of my personal goals
has been to perform the highest quality cue repairs for my customers.
About 1995, I began building custom cues to customer's specifications
striving for excellent playing characteristics. I was accepted into
the International Cue Makers Association, in the Cue Maker
classification in 2004, after my first review process.
As I
advanced from social play to ACUI college tournaments through local weekly
poolroom tournaments and now to regional professional play and
exhibitions, I have experimented with many special combinations of
ingredients in my own cues. TRIPLE CROSS CUES have the best
advantages from the best cues I've dissected over time. My success as a
player has been refined through much practice and deliberate efforts
to make a better playing cue. Better equipment improves
consistency, hence the slogan, Your best can be better with a TRIPLE
CROSS CUE.
